[02:42.81]DIRECTOR:Good morning.
[02:43.96]Welcome to the Early Learning Childcare Centre.
[02:46.40]How may I help you?
[02:47.30]CAROL:Hi.
[02:47.98]I spoke to you last week about enrolling my daughter for next year.
[02:51.12]DIRECTOR:Oh, yes.
[02:52.70]I'll just get some details from you.
[02:54.54]So, you're her mother?
[02:56.64]CAROL:That's right.
[02:57.31]DIRECTOR:And, can I have your name?
[02:58.86]CAROL:It's Carol, Carol Smith.
[03:01.40]DIRECTOR:And your daughter's name?
[03:02.90]CAROL:It's Kate.
[03:03.89]DIRECTOR:Now, we have several groups at the centre and we cater for children from three to five years old.
[03:10.46]How old is your daughter?
[03:11.85]CAROL:She's three now but she turns four next month.
[03:15.61]DIRECTOR: I'll put four down because that's how old she’ll be when she starts.
[03:19.60]CAROL:Fine, she's so excited about her birthday and coming to the centre.
[03:23.95]DIRECTOR:That's good to hear.
[03:25.14]And what's your address?
[03:26.95]CAROL:It's 46 Wombat Road, that's W-O-M-B-A-T.
[03:34.21]Woodside 4032.
[03:37.20]DIRECTOR:And what's the phone number?
[03:38.79]CAROL:Oh ...
[03:39.35]it's ... 3345 9865.
[03:45.90]DIRECTOR:So, have you decided on the days you'd like to bring your daughter here?
[03:49.43]CAROL:I'd prefer Monday and Wednesday if possible.
[03:52.53]DIRECTOR:Mmm.
[03:53.72]I'll check.
[03:55.26]Monday’s fine, but I think the centre is already full for Wednesday.
[03:59.25]Erm.
[04:01.12]Yes.
[04:02.52]Sorry.
[04:03.30]It seems to be a very popular day.
[04:04.54]We can offer you a Thursday or a Friday as well.
[04:08.44]CAROL:Oh dear.
[04:09.61] I suppose Thursday would be all right because she has swimming on Friday.
[04:14.29]DIRECTOR:OK, got that.
[04:15.55]Because a lot of parents work, we do offer flexible start and finish times.
[04:21.30]We are open from 7:30 in the morning until 6 o'clock at night.
[04:25.11]What time would you like your daughter to start?
[04:28.31]CAROL:I need to get to work in the city by 9:00 so I'll drop her off at 8:30.
[04:32.70]You're pretty dose to the city here so that should give me plenty of time to get there.
[04:37.15]DIRECTOR:That's fine.
[04:38.39]Now, we also need to decide which group she'll be in.
[04:41.99]We have two different groups and they're divided up according to age.
[04:45.93]There's the green group, which is for three- to four-year-olds.
[04:50.13]And then there's the red group which is for four- to five-year-olds.
[04:54.60]CAROL:She’s quite mature for her age and she can already write her name and read a little.
[04:59.33]DIRECTOR:Well.
[04:59.88] I'll put her in the red group and we can always change her to the green one if there are any problems.
[05:04.85]CAROL:That sounds fine.
[05:06.70]DIRECTOR:OK.
[05:07.16]Let's move on to meals.
[05:09.59]We can provide breakfast, lunch and dinner.
[05:11.82]As she's finishing pretty early, she won't need dinner, will you give her breakfast before she comes?
[05:17.49]CAROL:Yes, she'll only need lunch.
[06:06.80]DIRECTOR:Now, does she have any medical conditions we need to know about?
[06:10.53]Does she have asthma or any hearing problems for example?
[06:14.19]CAROL:No.
[06:15.00]But she does need to wear glasses.
[06:17.60]DIRECTOR:Oh, I'll make a note of that.
[06:18.89]CAROL:Yes, she's pretty good about wearing them, she can't see much without them.
[06:22.89]DIRECTOR:Right.
[06:23.42]OK.
[06:24.32]Now, I also need emergency contact details.
[06:27.97]CAROL:So what sort of information do you need?
[06:30.38]DIRECTOR:Just the name and number of a friend or family member we can contact in case we can't get hold of you at any time.
[06:36.48]CAROL:OK.
[06:38.68]That'd better be my sister...
[06:40.46]Jenny Ball.
[06:41.61]That's B-A-double L.
[06:44.29]Her phone number is 3346 7523.
[06:50.42]DIRECTOR:Great.
[06:51.32]So she is the child's aunt?
[06:53.31]CAROL:Yes, that's right.
[06:54.84]DIRECTOR:I'll make a note of that as well.
[06:56.36]Now, is there anything you'd like to ask?
[06:59.63]CAROL:What about payment?
[07:01.16]How much are the fees each term?
[07:03.73]DIRECTOR:Well, for two days and the hours you've chosen, that will be $450 altogether.
[07:10.60]CAROL:OK, and do I have to pay that now?
[07:13.77]DIRECTOR:No, we send out invoices once the children start at the centre.
[07:17.76]You can choose to pay at the end of each term or we do offer a slightly discounted rate if you pay every month.
[07:24.71]CAROL:Oh.
[07:25.52]I'll do that then.
[07:26.33]I find it easier to budget that way and I'm not used to the term dates just yet.
[07:30.85]DIRECTOR:Good, it makes it a lot simpler for us as well.
[07:33.50]Well, that's everything.
[07:35.60]Would you like me to show you around...?
