M: I’m going to enroll in the science seminar.
W: Why? You’re not a science major.
M: You don’t have to be a science major, but you can earn credits that count toward the science requirement.
W: I didn’t know that.
M: I need science credits, and the seminar looks like a good way to get them. I used to like science when I was a kid, and I read a lot of books about nature. Then later I lost interest because most science classes are boring. I didn’t like the one science class I took here, but it seems like this seminar will be different, and probably more interesting. I like the idea of studying with advanced students.
W:That doesn’t bother you? I mean, they’re students, not teachers.
M: That doesn’t bother me at all. I see it as a good opportunity. Maybe advanced students will make science more exciting and real. Maybe I’ll start to like science again. The only thing I don’t like is the part about writing reports.
W:Oh, but you’ll have all those advanced students to help you.
M: Yeah!
