When some people visit a city or country for the first time, they prefer to take an organized tour. Other people prefer to explore new places on their own. Which do you prefer and why?

I prefer an organized tour instead of visiting by myself. One of the primary reason is that I am lacking a good sense of direction. So, it is not wise for me to visit a new place on my own since it is very likely that I might end up losing way in an unfamiliar city. In addition, an organized tour usually has a detailed plan for the tourist, assigning an experienced tour guide, arranging the transportation and so on. Last time, when I went to Hainan, I signed up for a local tour, which turned out to be a satisfactory experience.
